Our History
I. T. Business Continuance Pty Ltd (ITBC) was established in 2002 as a specialist service provider for Disaster Recovery, Disk (DASD) Storage Management and Hardware Configuration in Mainframe environments.
The majority of our work in the early days was the design, build, implementation and exercising of mainframe disaster recovery (DR) technical solutions using EMC’s SRDF and Timefinder product sets. The same technology was also used to relocate data centres.
What set us apart from our competitors was that we approached the design from a business perspective; identifying our client’s recovery time and data loss requirements and matching the technical solution to these.
Without realising it at the time, we were applying the principles of a business impact analysis to DR – something we have carried throughout and maintain today.
Our service offerings expanded alongside the maturity of the business continuity (BC) discipline. Building on our strengths we added services around DR and BC. All of our services were and still are based upon national and international standards and best practices as these have matured over time.
